Summary focus group users

Monday 3th of September, we had our first focus group with the users. It was very inspirational. We discussed some of the benefits, concerns, ideas, expectations and had some great coffee. Below you can find the main benefits and concerns that were identified in the focus group. If you have any comments, please let us know in the comments! We will adapt it and discuss it in any following meeting.

Benefits

Minimum effort: you can put your trash away just as you do know. You don’t need to change anything. Besides, instead of gathering and handing in every type of trash separately, everything can be put in the GTS at the same time.
Fewer side effects: you don’t have to take into account the expiration dates and smell of trash as all trash can be removed immediately.
Contributing to a circular economy: with minimum effort, you can contribute to a sustainable circular economy with zero waste.

Concerns

The value of houses: when houses are adjusted for the GTS, it can be possible that the value of houses changes. It is not sure whether these values increase or decrease, so it may cause uncertainty.
Privacy: by scanning all trash in houses on types, a lot of data becomes available on what trash you produce as a household. Regarding privacy, this can be a concern.
